Introducing Lady K!

Lady K aka Karen O’Connor is a friend and a very talented quilter.  When she told me she was interested in using Midnight in the Garden, my third line for Moda, I was tickled absolutely pink.  Here’s a link to her blog talking about her Moda Blockheads experience.  If you’re not following her, I definitely think you should be!  She’s a force and one of my favorite people I’ve crossed paths with in the quilting industry.

Did you see? Lakeside Toweling + Midnight in the Garden make a perfect match!

“Cooee” is the name of the lovely block that Jenelle Kent designed for Moda blockheads 4. She made the most gorgeous pillows with her block and I wanted to share them with you. Jenelle chose to marry her stunning, soft Lakeside toweling with a few prints from my Midnight in the Garden… and the resulting makes are just dreamy… soft, romantic and modern. Please be sure to follow Jenelle for more of her gorgeous work @piecestotreasure And thank you again, Jenelle, for choosing my prints to pair with your very pretty projects. ?✨

Moda Blockheads Block #2 is here! Say hello to “Cooee”

What a happy Wednesday!  It’s Block #2 of Moda Blockheads 4!
And today… I’m over the moon to share with you my take on the “Cooee” block by Jenelle Kent of @piecestotreasure …  This block was FUN to put together…  as evident by my inability to create just one!  (Just like chips… you can’t have just one! *wink*)   I did my two blocks in my new fabric collection for Moda, Wild Meadow, shipping this September to your favorite local quilt shop!
And have you seen Jenelle’s GORGEOUS blocks?!  Run, don’t walk, over to her feed to see the stunning creations she’s made.  Pillows!  Oh, my heart, they’re beautiful!  I’m honored that she chose to mix prints from Midnight in the Garden with her gorgeous Lakeside toweling!  I’ll be sure to share her beautiful creations in my feed this afternoon!
New to Moda Blockheads?  Designers from Moda have created 28 unique blocks + 8 extra bonus blocks (so you’ll have the potential to make a grand total of 36 blocks if you make all of the free bonus quilt blocks).  Every Wednesday, a new designer will “launch” their block via their blog – Moda will talk about it too, of course.  And then you can get the pattern via digital download from that designer’s blog post!  Join the Facebook group, Moda Blocks to learn more!

MODA BLOCKHEADS 4 is here! Hurray!

Hi Friends!

I’m participating as both a quilter and a designer for MODA BLOCKHEADS this year…  I don’t think I truly understood the force of this amazing group until I saw the first blocks posted yesterday.  I’m completely enchanted with the talent and creativity of this amazing group!

This year, I’ll be sewing with my newest collection, Wild Meadow, shipping this fall!  It’s a pretty blend of purples, pinks and olives and I think it’ll be a vibrant addition to my rapidly growing quilt collection!

The first block this year is a Square Wheel… with a 9 patch variation in the center.  It’s such a fun block to make.  It was created by Lynne Hagmeier of Kansa Troubles Quilters.

Here are my two versions (I couldn’t stop at one!)

Want to join in on the fun?  Here is a link to the instructions on Lynne’s blog:

Honored to be a part of Blockheads with Jenelle Kent of Pieces to Treasure

Friends,

I have admired the gorgeous toweling from Jenelle Kent of Pieces to Treasure since before I became a Moda designer.  I am over the moon that for her block for the upcoming Blockheads challenge, she’s chosen to pair her gorgeous Lakeside toweling with my collection, Midnight in the Garden.  Stay tuned to see what beautiful creations she makes!  https://www.piecestotreasure.com/post/blockheads-4-fabric-selection

March Maker Spotlight – The Maker’s Club, Hey Miss Designs

It is an honor to be the March Maker featured in my friend and fellow designer’s creative group, The Maker’s Club!  Josie is a friend and kindred spirit.  She is the talented surface designer and maker behind her brand, Hey Miss Designs.  Josie and I bonded over a shared love of Prince Edward Island and all things “Anne of Green Gables.”  I really enjoyed reflecting on what motivates me as a designer for her spotlight piece.

I’d like to warmly invite you to join her group, The Maker’s Club.  It’s absolutely free and full of such creative delight!

I’m in Quilter’s World Magazine!

I am so proud to be featured in a designer’s spotlight in the spring issue of Quilter’s World.

It has been a joy to join the quilting industry.  Everyone has been warm and overwhelmingly welcoming to me as a new Moda designer.  Carolyn Beam, the Editor at Quilter’s World, has been especially lovely to work with.   It was such an honor to be asked to do a feature in her gorgeous magazine.  My feature in Quilter’s World focuses on my background, creative process, design techniques and future goals.  Click below & enjoy!
